SGA's Black History Month Presentation
SGA presented at two community meetings the last Friday of Black History Month, identifying the significance of African Americans throughout history. The SGA attempted to empower Commodore's youth by identifying black historical figures who have protested and advocated for their rights and the people within their community. Then, the SGA identified teen youth today who have advocated on a variety of issues important to them. Ultimately, this presentation captured the interests of CJR's students by showing them that they too have the power and the capacity to be advocates on any issue that is important to them within their community.
